StephanieStephanie Sigman is a Mexican American actress. Her debut role was in Miss Bala, a Mexican crime-drama film. She was then in Pioneer (2013), Spectre (2015) and Going Under (2016). Sigman was seen in Narcos (2015) as along with S.W.A.T.(2017) in the first and second seasons respectively. Sigman was born in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico with her Mexican mother and an American father, Lee Sigman, a New York Yankees scout from Kansas. Sigman is an U.S. citizen through her father. Her father, the professional baseball athlete Kenneth Ray Sigman was her mother. Her first professional work was on Mexican television before she made her debut on film in Rio de Oro. In 2011 she played the lead character in the film Laura Guerrero in the Mexican crime drama film, Miss Bala. Six years ago, the Mexican entry in the category of Best Foreign Language Film was chosen at the 84th Academy Awards. [7][8] However, it was not able to make it to the shortlist. (9) Sigman was awarded the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award for her performance as a film critic in 2011. She was in the Canadian documentary, Flight of the Butterflies the next year. 2013 saw Sigman play the role of Catalina Aguado in the Norwegian thriller Pioneer
